摘要: The presence of low-molecular-weight by-products is a major problem in poly[2-hydroxethyl methacrylate (HEMA)-silica] hybrids prepared using sol-gel synthesis. Low-molecular-weight have detrimental effect on the optical transparency, and mechanical storage properties poly(HEMA-silica) hybrids. To solve this problem, new synthesis procedure was developed to prepare organic–inorganic Glycidyl (GMA) used as comonomer form poly(HEMA-GMA-silica) (PHGS) In addition forming copolymer, GMA has two more functions. It facilitates removal almost all by-product molecules formed during also prevents further condensation free silanol groups polymerization, storage, use. PHGS were evaluated by compression testing. higher compared Plexiglas G poly(methyl methacrylate), can be synthesized with reproducible properties.
