摘要: Surgical treatment for biliary tract cancer is challenging. Biliary originating from the perihilar region especially difficult to treat, due anatomical complexity at hepatic hilus. However, in past few decades there have been dramatic advancements with regard diagnosis, surgical technique, and perioperative patients’ management cancer. These not only decreased rate of postoperative morbidity mortality but also improved survival. The standard procedure hilar cholangiocarcinoma comprises major hepatectomy combined caudate lobectomy extrahepatic bile duct resection. This means that surgeons must overcome complications accompanying this highly invasive surgery. In regard, innovation portal vein embolization has substantially contributed a decrease risk hepatectomy.
