摘要: A compact polarization converter for silicon-based slot waveguides is proposed, in which a metal strip of silver (Ag) with right-angled cross section located at the upper-right corner waveguide embedded its upper claddings. Owing to characteristics introduced asymmetric hybrid plasmonic waveguide, modal hybridness highly enhanced and optimal optical axis rotation angle, 45?, realized by optimizing location size Ag, resulting high conversion efficiency (PCE). Numerical results show that 15.2 ?m length, operating wavelength 1.55 TM-to-TE conversion, achieved, where PCE insertion loss are 96.9% 0.7 dB, respectively, bandwidth >92% ?67 nm (from 1524 1591 nm), covering entire C-band. Moreover, fabrication tolerances structural parameters field evolution along propagation distance investigated.
