摘要: While it is well established that ecosystems display strong responses to elevated nitrogen deposition, the importance of ratio between dominant forms deposited (NHx and NOy) in determining ecosystem response poorly understood. As large changes oxidised reduced inputs are occurring, this oversight requires attention. One reason for knowledge gap plants experience a different NHx:NOy soil seen atmospheric deposits because modified by transformations, mediated pH. Consequently species neutral alkaline habitats less likely encounter high NH4+ concentrations than from acid soils. We suggest vascular plant changing ratios will be driven primarily combination pH nitrification rates. Testing hypothesis experimental survey work range systems.
