摘要: Images accompanying articles on obesity in the media may contribute to a stigmatizing narrative of personal blame for condition. We report pilot study online newspapers 15 countries determine use positive and negative imagery used accompany obesity. undertook visual content analysis images from top five each country. then ranked according ratio used. A total 195 were analysed. The majority scored negatively (i.e. likely be stigmatizing). Media Hong Kong, South Africa, Italy Morocco had highest prevalence imagery, whereas Japan New Zealand displayed lowest. Public all surveyed show associated with obesity, but there was variability between countries. As global rises advocacy groups raise awareness stigma, we hope an improvement media.
