摘要: The screening of potential therapeutic compounds using phenotypic drug discovery (PDD) is being embraced once again by researchers and pharmaceutical companies as an approach to enhance the development new effective therapeutics. Before genomics molecular biology era consecutive emergence targeted-drug approaches, PDD was most common platform used for discovery. PDD, also known screening, consists in either vitro cellular or vivo animal models identify resulting a desirable change. Using this approach, biological targets are not taken into consideration.
