摘要: Approximately 1 million hospitalizations, with an estimated cost of $28 billion, occur annually in the United States due to acutely decompensated heart failure1. Data from Acute Decompensated Heart Failure National Registry (ADHERE) show that 90% hospitalizations for failure are fluid overload patients who have failed treatment oral diuretics2. The average length stay is 4.3 days, and 42% discharged without complete resolution symptoms. With current strategies, 50% lose ≤5 lbs admission weight 20% gain during hospitalization2. effectively resolve congestion reduce may contribute readmission rates, which be as high at 6 months3.
