摘要: Abstract The role of Ascaris lumbricoides infection in human nutrition was investigated 12 children 5 to 10 years age. Daily levels dietary protein intake varied from 1 2.8 g per kg body weight but were kept constant for each child, as caloric intake. Nitrogen, fat balance, and d-xylose absorption determinations done before after deworming. A mean reduction fecal nitrogen excretion 230 mg day noted removal worms. In 7 harboring 48 or more parasties, the amounted 7.2% nitrogen. 3 receiving weight, improved absorpiton deworming led an increased retention. 8 associated with moderate steatorrhea (13.4% fat) impairment absorption; former markedly reduced, latter partially following treatment. It is concluded that can lead marked nutritional when a high parasite load low
