摘要: A weakly diamagnetic rotating proton beam propagating at about four times the Alfven speed along a magnetized hydrogen plasma column generated magnetosonic waves when rise time was less than three radial transit times. The were collisionally damped and damping increased as induced cross‐field current became stronger. Our conditions suggest that is due to an enhanced collision frequency resulting from modified two‐stream instability.
