摘要: This study presents an analytical framework supporting coal regions in a strategy toward the clean energy transition. The proposed approach uses combination of value chain analysis and sector that enables comprehensive assessment considering local specificities. Its application to case Slovakian region Upper Nitra demonstrates practical examples opportunities challenges. evaluates mining industry, from extraction electricity generation, terms jobs business are at risk by closure mines. complementary system focuses on diversification mix, environmental impacts, feasibility alternative technologies combusting sources. results show net positive cost benefit for all developed scenarios replacing existing power plant. Although installation new geothermal plant is estimated be most expensive option our portfolio scenarios, it highest CO2 reduction generation Slovakia—34% less compare employing In addition, development industrial polo around deep technology can boost economic activity attracting investments companies providing geological exploration services, transferring knowledge industry into emerging sector.
