Changes in glacier area in Tyrol, Austria, between 1969 and 1992 derived from Landsat 5 Thematic Mapper and Austrian Glacier Inventory data

摘要: Results are presented from the use of Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery and data Austrian Glacier Inventory for area change detection a large number glaciers. A trend analysis glacier between 1969, 1985 1992 was carried out 235 glaciers in Tyrol, Austria. Ratio images TM channels 4 5 thresholded to obtain mask as revealed by six sub-regions (Otztal, Pitztal, Gurgl, Stubai North, South Zillertal). Glaciers with areas less than 1km 2 shrank signie c- antly 1969 (about › 35%). The total loss this period is about 43km or 18.6% (230.5km 2). smaller 1km2 contribute 59% (25km 2) although they covered only one-third 1969.
