摘要: Gout as well asymptomatic hyperuricemia have been associated with several traditional cardiovascular risk factors and chronic kidney disease. Both in vitro studies animal models support a role for uric acid mediating both hemodynamic tissue toxicity leading to glomerular tubule-interstitial damage, respectively. Nevertheless, two recent designed carried out trials failed show the benefit of allopurinol treatment on outcomes, casting doubts expectations renal protection by use urate lowering treatment. With aim providing possible explanations lack effect disease progression, we will critically review results from all available randomized controlled comparing urate-lowering agent placebo or no study medication at least 12 months report clinical outcomes.
