摘要: Abstract Alternative splicing (AS) programs are primarily controlled by regulatory RNA binding proteins (RBPs). It has been proposed that a small number of master regulators might control cell-specific networks and these RBPs could be identified proximity their genes to transcriptional super-enhancers. Using this approach we RBPMS as critical regulator in differentiated vascular smooth muscle cells (SMCs). is highly down-regulated during phenotypic switching SMCs from contractile motile proliferative phenotype responsible for 20% the AS changes transition. directly regulates numerous components actin cytoskeleton focal adhesion machineries whose activity SMC function both phenotypes. also other splicing, post-transcriptional transcription including key factor Myocardin, thereby matching many criteria SMCs.
