Abstract Background: Allergic systemically administered corticosteroids seem be infrequent considering their extensive use. The aim of the study was evaluate IgE response in patients with immediate allergic methylprednisolone (MP). Methods: Four subjects who developed after MP administration and ten controls good tolerance were evaluated. Skin prick intradermal testing done using MP, hydrocortisone (HC), dexamethasone (DX). If negative, a drug provocation test (DPT) confirm diagnosis assess cross-reactivity. vitro evaluated by basophil activation (BAT) ImmunoCAP. Results: Three diagnosed presence positive skin reading two one testing, patient negative DPT. All four had HC DX. BAT for just those tests, all being Two also ImmunoCAP MP. Conclusions: This confirms existence that some are mediated specific antibodies. useful diagnosis.
