摘要: BACKGROUND Short dental implants can be an alternative to bone augmentation procedures at sites of reduced alveolar bone. Most studies on short are retrospective or multicentre reports that lack controlled and consistent comparison between different systems. This study aimed compare clinical radiographic outcomes in two systems the posterior mandible. METHODS Twenty patients with adjacent missing teeth were recruited. Patients assigned equally randomly into groups; Bicon(®) (6 8 mm) Ankylos(®) (8 implants. A two-stage surgical approach single crowns used for implant placement loading. Outcomes included peri-implant parameters, stability (Periotest values; PTVs) changes, which assessed baseline, 2, 6 12 months post-loading. RESULTS No loss was encountered up significant difference parameters observed except PTVs (p < 0.05) lower CONCLUSIONS The use of short associated excellent outcomes. Ankylos(®) demonstrated similar soft tissue changes. However, Ankylos(®) better all evaluation intervals.
