摘要: Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are a rare population of cancer exhibiting cell properties, such as self-renewal, differentiation and tissue restoration. Beside the initiation primary tumor, CSCs have also been associated with metastasis formation relapses. In context relapses, we recently postulated existence so-called recurrence (rCSCs). These specific CSC subtype will initiate relapses an “oncogenic resistance” phenotype, which characterized by markedly increased malignancy concomitant drug resistance towards first line therapy. present chapter discuss necessity rCSCs distinct that fusion could be one mechanism how originate.
