摘要: Abstract Nepal’s population continues to grow, but the agricultural sector’s performance remains almost stagnant. This has led a decline in per capita availability of food. Increasing productivity is key growth, and one strategy for increasing use improved seeds. study investigates impact contract farming (CF) high yielding varieties (HYV) paddy seed production on costs, yield, profits smallholder farms Nepal. Using farm-level data non-parametric propensity score matching estimator, finds significant positive HYV revenues, profits, negative total costs production. Additionally, very small (⩽0.43 ha) with CF seeds tend gain most when it comes yield hectare. Our estimates reveal that average household Nepal engaged input conditions receives higher profits. However, farmers output have yields smaller Finally, both highest gains significantly
