摘要: This report reviews the diagnostic and prognostic importance of pathologic findings in prostate needle biopsies. The morphological biopsy may be placed into one following five categories: cancer, atypical small acinar proliferation, high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, inflammation, benign tissue. While prime goal is to diagnose adenocarcinoma, once carcinoma detected, further descriptive information regarding type, amount grade forms cornerstone for contemporary management patient assessment potential local cure risk distant metastasis. provided attributes used depending on individual patient’s medical condition preference treating physician’s evaluation determine whether any form treatment indicated and, if so, type therapy.
