摘要: Breast cancer is the most common in women. Radiotherapy (RT) one of mainstay treatments for but some cases not effective. Cancer stem cells (CSCs) within tumor can be responsible recurrence and metastasis after RT. Matrix metalloproteases (MMPs), regulated mainly by tissue inhibitors metalloproteinases (TIMPs) histone deacetylases (HDACs), may also contribute to development modifying its activity The aim this work was study effects RT on expression MMPs, TIMPs HDACs different cell subpopulations MCF-7, MDA-MB-231 SK-BR-3 lines. We assessed vitro these genes 3D culture models induced tumors female NSG mice orthotopic xenotransplants. Our results showed that gene related subpopulation studied, model used single radiation dose administered. Moreover, crucial role played microenvironment terms interactions CSC plasticity growth outcome shown, supporting use higher doses (6 Gy) achieve better control development.
