摘要: Imaging plates (IPs) are a reusable media, which when exposed to ionizing radiation, store latent image that can be read out with red laser as photostimulated luminescence (PSL). They widely used substitute for X-ray films diagnostic studies. In radiology this technology is known computed radiography. work, the energy response of commercial IP beta-particle reference radiation fields calibrations at National Institute Standards and Technology was investigated. The absorbed dose in active storage phosphor layer calculated following scaling procedure depth high Z materials water. It found beta particles from Pm-147 Kr-85 gave 68% 24% higher PSL responses than induced by Sr-90, respectively, caused different detection efficiencies. addition, normalized curves IPs function polystyrene were measured compared data using extrapolation chamber techniques. difference between both sets resulted continuous change particle travels across material, leads response.
