摘要: Greater Australia is the most popular of a range names (Ballard 1993) given to single Pleistocene landmass that connected New Guinea Australian mainland across Torres Strait and Arafura Sea, Tasmania Bass Strait. Other smaller, now offshore, islands were also incorporated (Figure 1). This vast continent stretched from almost exactly Equator nearly 44°S =112°E =154°E at its widest point, near Tropic Capricorn.
