摘要: Rapid eye movement sleep (REMS) modulates Na-K ATPase activity and maintains brain excitability. REMS deprivation (REMSD)-associated increased is mediated by noradrenaline (NA) acting on α1-adrenoceptor (AR) in the brain. It was shown that NA-induced due to allosteric modulation as well turnover of enzyme. Although former has been studied detail, our understanding latter lacking, which we have studied. Male Wistar rats were deprived for 4-days classical flower-pot method; suitable control experiments conducted. In another set, α1-AR antagonist prazosin (PRZ) i.p. injected 48 h REMSD onward. At end sacrificed cervical dislocation brains removed. Synaptosomes prepared from used estimate protein expressions different isoforms enzyme subunits using western blot. significantly synaptosomal differential increase α1-, α2- α3-isoforms, but not β1- β2-isoforms. PRZ reduced REMSD-induced expressions. We also observed subunit expression enhanced mRNA synthesis, suggests possibility post-transcriptional regulation. Thus, findings suggest REMSD-associated elevated level α-subunit induced NA mRNA-stabilization.
