摘要: Passive Optical Network (PON) has evolved drastically in order to provide greater speed and better reliability such as Next Generation PON1 (NG-PON1) NG-PON2 which able more than 40 Gbps 128 of bandwidth respectively. Due rapid growth PON technologies, researchers have conducted many thorough experiments enhance current PON-base technologies a form testbeds. However, most the studies show that testbeds limitations either on its configurability, compactness or cost-efficiency. Hence, this motivates us propose lab-scale router testbed architecture by using Raspberry Pi for promising features size. The were done area because proposed is proof-of-concept solution reconfigurability PON. results are terms throughput, end-to-end delay jitter both downstream upstream transmissions. After conducting experiments, we come conclusion Pis suitable be used routers fiber networking architectures due their reconfigurability, open source kernel, space-friendly cost-efficient.
