摘要: Purpose: Approximately 25–30% of breast and ovarian carcinomas have amplification the HER-2/neu oncogene. The aim present study was to focus on gene in different clinical stages cancer order (1) determine if fluorescent situ hybridization (FISH) can be used detect cancer, (2) establish whether characterizes a subset each these stages, (3) trend for correlation with stage disease detected using FISH technology. Methods: A total 40 specimens formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues were analyzed cytogenetically, blinded fashion, Vysis LSI Orange CEP 17 Green DNA dual color probe. criterion “high amplification” an ratio >4.0, that “moderate between 2.1 4.0, “low 1.5–2.0. Results: Using cutoff point ≥1.5, overall frequency among I tumors 30% (3 out 10). Of these, one-third (1 3) showed low amplification, moderately amplified, highly amplified. II 0% (0 III 10% sole tumor found positive classified as amplified by our criteria. IV 50% (5 Four 5 cases studied 22.5% (9 studied). Conclusion: Although linear cannot established at this time, it is interesting note when II, are combined, respectively, latter category has higher than former. Furthermore, highest 10) all three lower combined (4 30). This no doubt due high observed tumors, which, interestingly, also demonstrate level copy numbers. biologic basis not clear, given observation most aggressive associated further exploration prognostic marker poor outcome warranted.
