摘要: The sensitivity of diffusion-weighted MRI was compared to that T2-weighted following temporary middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCA-O) for 33 min followed by 4 h reperfusion in rats. Diffusion-weighted spin-echo images using strong gradients (b value 1413 s/mm2) demonstrated a significant increase signal intensity ischemic regions as early 14 after onset ischemia comparison the normal, contralateral hemisphere (p less than 0.05). This hyperintensity returned baseline levels during reperfusion. showed no evidence brain injury occlusion. In three rats subjected permanent MCA-O, an increased on first image and continued 4-h observation period. failed demonstrate until approximately 2 MCA-O. Signal ratios normal tissues were greater MR at all time points Close anatomical correlation found between sustained localization infarcts seen post-mortem histopathology.
