摘要: Intubation of the trachea with a cuffed tube can be performed by translaryngeal route (endotracheal tube) or through tracheal stoma (tracheostomy tube). Tracheal intubation one these routes is only way to simultaneously provide secure airway, ventilatory support, and convenient access trachea. Unfortunately, presence an artificial airway bypasses many patient’s natural defenses so increases chances upper lower colonization, aspiration, infection [1]. Sedatives, analgesics muscle relaxants may required improve tolerance airway; this risks cardiovascular, respiratory neuromuscular complications. It is, therefore, desirable avoid use airways, for example, using facemask oxygen external interface achieve non-invasive ventilation (NIV). Indeed it has become clear that NIV as opposed reduce morbidity mortality in critically ill. When responsibility both medical devices industry clinician minimize complications consequent its use.
