摘要: The term 'incidental' gallbladder cancer is used to describe the histopathologic surprise of a malignancy following simple cholecystectomy for presumed benign gallstone disease. However, there remains persistent doubt, especially so in large volume centers - whether some these cases should have been detected on preoperative imaging. Under broad definition are we condoning fact that 'missed' cancers may actually 'potential' cancers, or 'suspicious' cancers? In this report try answer question. There exists group patients whom imaging raises suspicion but yet subjected laparoscopic cholecystectomy, possibly because adequate heed was not paid situation, correct strategy would be subject excised an intraoperative frozen section and conversion open radical if disease more than T1. On basis experience gained with problem at Tata Memorial Center, attempt introduce two new terms: 'Potential' 'suspicious cancer', highlight clinical situations procedure performed where indicated.
