Taste the texture. The relation between subjective tactile sensitivity, mouthfeel and picky eating in young adults

摘要: Selective or picky eating can be an obstacle for a varied diet. One reason why people reject certain foods is because they do not like the texture. Several studies show that in children tactile sensitivity related to pickiness eating. Children who feel of sand slimy substances with their hands also more kinds food, presumably are sensitive mouthfeel several food textures. There however hardly any research on role adult acceptance. Two important questions therefore are: Is adults and if so, does mediate relation between pickiness? In current study, eating, subjective sensitivity, evaluation were measured 87 undergraduate students. It appeared three measures moderately related, mediating These results too, plays acceptance larger variety foods. This means when aiming change improve dietary quality adults, texture should taken into account.
