摘要: To study the incidence and outcome of GB virus C (GBV-C) infection in blood recipients. Serum samples collected a prospective were examined for GBV-C RNA by nested polymerase chain reaction assay. Among 400 adults who underwent cardiac surgery, 40 positive RNA, including six whose pretransfusion sera already seven coinfected with hepatitis (HCV) during transfusion. The risk transmission was estimated to be approximately 0.46% per donor. viremia detectable 1 week after transfusion could persist 8 years. However, no evident symptoms or signs noted 25 patients infected alone, average peak serum alanine aminotransferase activity 31 IU/L only (range, 12 123), persistently normal levels 20 patients. In HCV, clinical courses posttransfusion similar those HCV alone. eight non-A E hepatitis, one RNA. Sixty chosen test G (HGV) sequences, 26 30 positives HGV contrast none negative samples. conclusion, can transmitted 9% surgery. Nevertheless, this does not seem cause classic most instances.
