摘要: We aimed to study the effects of gingko biloba extract (EGb) on oxidative stress, astrocyte maturation and cognitive disfunction in offspring hyperhomocysteinemic rats. Hyperhomocysteinemia was induced pregnant rats by administration methionine (1 gr/kg body weight) dissolved drinking water throughout pregnancy. One group animals has received same amount plus 100 mg/kg/day EGb during On postnatal day 1, half pups from all groups were sacrificed lipid peroxidation (LPO) different subfractions brain. Other tested Morris maze assess differences learning memory performance at 75 days age. Maternal hyperhomocysteinemia significantly increased LPO levels especially mitochondrial subfraction fetal pup brains. prevented this inrease. Methionine reduced glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression brains significantly. improved GFAP Offspring had poor long term spatial no effect impaired memory. In conclusion, maternally decreased performance.
