摘要: Bipolar disorder (BD) is a disabling and chronic neuropsychiatric that typified by complex illness presentation, episode recurrence its frequent association with psychiatric medical comorbidities. Over the past decade, obesity has emerged as one of many comorbidities generating substantial concern in BD population due to important prognostic implications. This comprehensive review details bidirectional relationship between evidenced alterations structure function central nervous system, addition greater depressive recurrence, cognitive dysfunction risk suicidality. Drawing on current research results, this article presents several putative mechanisms underlying synergistic toxic effects provides framework for future treatment options obesity–BD comorbidity. There need more large-scale prospective studies investigate relationships BD.
