Plant Regeneration and Recovery of Fertile Plants from Protoplasts of Maize ( Zea Mays L.)

摘要: We report plant regeneration from maize (Zea mays L.) protoplasts with recovery of fertile plants a Cateto inbred line adapted to tropical regions. Protoplasts were isolated embryogenic cell suspension cultures capable regenerating plants. Cell colonies and calli obtained at high frequencies when cultured either in thin layer liquid medium or on cellulose-nitrate filters placed feeder cells. High plating efficiencies both culture methods using modified KM-8p N6 media. The results confirmed that maintain the capacity donor also demonstrated can be achieved different methods. Furthermore, we recovered viable progenies protoplasts.
