摘要: Traditional film/screen mammograms are obtained using Molybdenum or Rhodium target x-ray tubes. The energy spectrum from these sources matches the limited latitude of systems. For digital imaging systems, is linear over a wide range exposures and arbitrary H&D curves can be with image processing. This allows recorded contrast to noise ratio (CNR) optimized by considering radiographic techniques. this work, we modeled process for (amorphous selenium) mammography system. optimal CNR relative dose was determined several target/filter combinations, kVp values, varying breast thickness. combinations included: Mo/Mo, Mo/Rh, Rh/Rh, W/Al, W/Mo, W/Ag, W/Sn. As thickness increased, use tungsten tin filter resulted in 34% improvement same when compared filter. Notably, W/Sn combination significantly lower mA-s (2/3 1/5 4 8cm). In applications, Tungsten tube rather than traditional should lead significant reductions exposure time heat while maintaining similar quality dose.
