摘要: The diversity of litter ant assemblages in evergreen, deciduous and Shola evergreen (Shola) forest vegetation types the Wayanad region Western Ghats was assessed employing conventional taxonomic indices. Non-dependence on quantitative data ability to relate phylogenetic structure with ecological conditions habitat, ascertain priorities for conservation habitats, makes non-parametric measures, such as variation distinctness Lambda(+) average Delta(+), highly useful tools assessment biodiversity. Although Delta(+) values saturated leading closer 3 assemblages, proved be a more dependable index. Evenness spread high forests low compared regional master list. Low assemblage indicates that among types, provided most favorable habitat ants. evenness, is indicated by forests, attributed presence group taxonomically closely related adapted prevail moist wet conditions.
