Phase stabilization and structural disorder in Ln1.85Th0.15CuO4 (Ln = Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd)

摘要: Abstract A systematic FTIR study of thorium-doped electron superconductors (T′ structure) series is presented in this paper. Even though all Ln1.85Th0.15CuO4 compounds belong to T′ structure, due different sizes rare earth ionic radii, the structure stabilization very difficult achieve since copper–oxygen distance varies for members series. The origin disorder non-matching Ln–O/Cu–O bonds structure. built-in internal pressure responsible change CuO polyhedron (CuO6 octahedra CuO2 planar) as relaxing mechanism formation from T-structured compounds. This well established appearance or disappearance Cu–O vibration peaks spectra.
