摘要: The adequacy of medical management and the validity epidemiological inference on arterial hypertension depend crucially accuracy measurement procedures. This article reports our experience with procedures used for personnel training quality control blood pressure measurements in Pro-Saude Study phase 2, which was conducted among 3,574 civil servants at a university Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2001. We utilized mercury sphygmomanometers standard techniques according to international protocols. monitored technicians' adherence adopted guidelines, final digit preference, differences between subsequent measurements, proportion missing data. Overall, these helped minimize potential systematic errors related auscultatory method measurement, thus allowing valid analyses factors associated hypertension.
