Multiple roles of intermediate filaments.

摘要: The widespread distribution, diversity of types, and highly conserved features intermediate filaments (IFs) the associated proteins indicate multiple roles for IFs in nucleus cytoplasm eukaryotic cells. Traditional functions include maintenance cell shape, locomotion, movement positioning organelles guiding development. Recent studies some these can now be expanded. Currently available information shows that are important to nuclear function division, transport between cytoplasm, mechanical integrity cells tissues, reorganization chromatin response intercellular signals, embryonic cellular differentiation.
