Patient satisfaction with topical ocular hypotensives

摘要: Background:  The aim of this study is to assess patient satisfaction, convenience use, ease administration, side effects and treatment burden topical ocular hypotensives. Design:  Prospective, observational cohort. Participants:  Two thousand five hundred forty-one patients with glaucoma or hypertension. Methods:  Treatment Impact Patient Satisfaction Scale (TIPSS) was administered by mail all hypertension registered Glaucoma New Zealand during a 3-month period. questionnaire assessed demographics; hypotensive use including number medications, frequency class medication, presence/severity effects; impact on quality life; satisfaction. Univariate multivariate analyses were performed identify determinants satisfaction. Main Outcome Measures:  satisfaction. Results:  Almost 80% respondents either ‘very satisfied’ ‘satisfied’ hypotensives. Factors that predictive satisfaction included eye drop {odds ratio (OR) 2.4 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.8–3.1); P < 0.001}, subjective (OR 2.6 [95% CI 2.0–3.4]; P < 0.001) administration 2.5 2.0–3.3]; P < 0.001).
