摘要: Abstract The present work investigates the effect of varying combustion chamber geometry on performance a diesel engine using biodiesel in terms brake specific fuel consumption, thermal efficiency as well exhaust emissions and characteristics. Engine tests have been carried out blend 20% Pongamia Oil Methyl Ester (POME) with standard three types chambers namely Hemispherical chamber, Toroidal Shallow depth without altering compression ratio engine. test results showed that for toroidal is higher than other two chambers. Significant improvement reduction particulates, carbon monoxide unburnt hydrocarbons observed compared to two. However oxides nitrogen were slightly chamber. analysis shows improved characteristics baseline at all loads operation.
