摘要: The mixing of different sized soil particles is known to affect properties such as density, porosity, hydraulic conductivity, and water retention. To better understand how the controls retention characteristics, a set laboratory experiments was performed using binary mixtures coarse fine with seven fractions. For each mixture, saturated conductivity were obtained. enhance effects mixing, sands relatively large particle size contrast used. Results showed that at equal or above fraction ∼0.3, controlled behavior. Starting from fine-only sample, introducing more led rather gradual changes in characteristics. Wall coarse–fine interfaces presumed be responsible for curves. curves lower than 0.3 by yielding displacement pressure similar sand. Furthermore, it inferred fractions spectra pore sizes, suggesting parametric model sufficient flexibility needed describe characteristics mixtures.
