摘要: AIM: Portfolios are often used as an instrument with which to stimulate students reflect on their experiences. Research has shown that working portfolios does not automatically reflection. In this study we addressed the question: What conditions for successful reflective use of in undergraduate medical education? METHODOLOGY/RESEARCH DESIGN: We designed a portfolio was aimed at stimulating reflection early education, using experiences described education literature and elsewhere. Conditions were identified through interviews 13 teachers (mentors), who experienced mentoring process developing portfolios. The analysed according principles grounded theory. RESULTS: emerged from fell into 4 categories: coaching; structure guidelines; relevant materials, summative assessment. According mentors, meet these will students' abilities. CONCLUSION: This shows potentially valuable method assessing skills training, provided certain effective recognised met. have strong potential enhancing learning assessment but they very vulnerable may easily lead disappointment. Before implementing one should first consider whether necessary can be fulfilled, including appropriate structure, procedure, provision enough new sufficient teacher capacity adequate coaching © Blackwell Publishing Ltd 2005.
