摘要: Background. The emergence of antibiotic-resistant organisms and the lack development new antimicrobials have made it imperative that additional strategies be developed to maintain effectiveness these existing antibiotics. objective this study was describe impact a prospective-auditwith-feedback antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) on antibiotic use in children’ sh ospital. Method. A quasi-experimental design with control group performed assess prospective-audit-with-feedback ASP. combined at 25 similar children’s hospitals are members Child Health Corporation America. Results. ASP reviewed 10 460 broad-spectrum or select antibiotics 8765 patients 30 months following intervention. most common were ceftriaxone/ cefotaxime (43%), vancomycin (18%), ceftazidime (12%), meropenem (7%). total 2378 recommendations 1703 (19%) patients; recommendation stop (41%). Clinicians compliant agreed-upon 92% patients. When comparing our group, monthly decline all 7% (P= .045) 8% (P = observed for days therapy (DoT) length (LoT) per 1000 patient-days, respectively. An even greater effect as DoT patient-days declined 17% (P< .001) LoT 18% < .001). Conclusions. can significant decreasing hospital.
