摘要: Abstract Aim With increasing global use of hotel-based quarantine as part COVID-19 border control efforts, we aimed to assess its risk failure. Methods We searched official websites in both Australia and New Zealand (NZ) identify outbreaks failures associated with hotel (searches conducted up 12 February 2021). used two denominators: a) the estimated number travelers who went through these facilities during 2020 year 31 January 2021; b) equivalent SARS-CoV-2 positive people facilities. Results Up 2021, had seven one causing over 800 deaths six resulting lockdowns. In NZ there were nine failures, an outbreak three deaths, also a lockdown. The overall failure for those transiting was at per 20,702 252 cases (both countries combined). At country level, 15.5 1000 (95%CI: 5.4 25.7), compared 2.0 (0.5 3.5) – greater than seven-fold difference risk. Approaches infection surveillance found vary widely by state/territory. Conclusions There appears be notable countries. large variation practices suggests opportunity reduction.
