摘要: Pepsinogens (PGA) are the inactive precursors of pepsin, major acid protease found in stomach. The PGA gene family exhibits polymorphic variation human populations that can either be demonstrated by electrophoretic analysis proteins or respective genes with cDNA probes. Here, we describe interrelationships between most common pepsinogen protein phenotypes and corresponding haplotypes (A, B, C) containing different combinations PGA3, PGA4, PGA5 genes. We propose this unusual genetic involving contain three, two, one genes, respectively, is result molecular evolution duplication.
