摘要: Previous studies have demonstrated an effect of estrogen on iron metabolism in peripheral tissues. The role brain is currently unknown. In this study, we investigated the and mechanism transport proteins. We that exporter ferroportin 1 (FPN1) importer divalent metal transporter (DMT1) were upregulated content was decreased after treatment for 12 hr primary cultured astrocytes. Hypoxia-inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α) upregulated, but HIF-2α remained unchanged neurons, DMT1 downregulated, FPN1 decreased, regulatory protein (IRP1) HIF-1α hr. These results suggest regulation by astrocytes neurons different. Estrogen increases expression inducing astrocytes, whereas IRP1 may account increased neurons.
