摘要: DIAPLECTIC glass, which is produced without fusion, characteristic of meteorite impact sites in feldspar- and quartz-rich on the Earth Moon; it has also been laboratory shock experiments1–3. Its presence nature thus considered to be strong evidence exposure a high-pressure wave generated by impact. The formation such glasses universally interpreted terms brief, high-temperature conditions loading. Here we report that crystalline anorthite (Ca Al2Si2O8) becomes amorphous at static pressures between 22 28 GPa 300 K. amorphization associated with pressure-induced increase coordination silicon aluminium oxygen, from fourfold five- sixfold. appears as sample vitrifies pressure; decompression, reverts fourfold. vitrification spatially heterogeneous, may crystallographically controlled. glass material under K indicates high strain rates temperatures compression are not required for creation fusion.
