摘要: Courtship is a widespread behavior in which one gender conveys to the other series of cues about their species identity, gender, and suitability as mates. In many species, females decode these male displays either accept or reject them. Despite fact that courtship has been investigated for long time, genes circuits allow generate mutually exclusive responses remain largely unknown. Here, we provide evidence Kruppel-like transcription factor datilografo (dati) required proper locomotion acceptance adult Drosophila females. dati mutant are completely unable almost invariably males. Molecular analyses reveal broadly expressed brain its specific removal excitatory cholinergic neurons recapitulates female behavioral phenotype but not locomotor deficits, indicating two separable functions. Clonal brains identified three discrete foci where acceptance. These include around antennal lobe, lateral horn, posterior superior protocerebrum. Together, results show organize maintain relatively simple circuit allows courting
