摘要: It has been experimentally demonstrated that for the measurement of broadband ultrasound attenuation (BUA) at human calcaneus cortical end-plate creates a artefact order 7 dB MHz−1. suggested origin this may be phase cancellation pulse resulting from inconsistencies in propagation time across beam. Experimental and computer simulations were performed on samples varying degrees curvature hence times The experimental simulation incorporated Perspex 35, 50 75 mm radius. was implemented using Matlab Simulink, with represented by transport delay. wavelet-based digitized transmitted derived simulation. computer-derived frequency spectra radii comparable, demonstrating, firstly, there is significant dependence measured BUA upon radius and, secondly, response to similar magnitude trend both simulations. current study suggests observed vitro corresponds approximately 58 mm. Although not recorded original study, value appears reasonable. This indicates assumptions within manifested validation, hence, related presence calcaneal due propagating pulse.
