摘要: An alternative green microfluidic device made of zein, a prolamin corn, can be utilized as disposable environmentally friendly microchip especially in agriculture applications. Using standard soft lithography and stereo techniques, we fabricated thin zein films with chambers channels. These were bonded to both glass slide another film. The film features bonds irreversibly other surfaces by vapor-deposition ethanol create an adhesive layer resulting very little or no trapped air small shape distortion. Zein-zein zein-glass devices demonstrated sufficient strength facilitate fluid flow complex design that showed leakage under high hydraulic pressure. Zein-glass serpentine mixing successful manipulation concentration gradient Rhodamine B solution was generated. ease fabrication bonding the flexibility moldability offer attractive possibilities for manufacturing. include several unit operations being one most commonly used. zein-based devices, entirely from biopolymer agricultural origin, material choices are less dependent on limited petroleum based polymer resources.
