摘要: Abstract Organic pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are present in the environment increasing concentrations and so of growing concern. Monitoring these species, particularly on-site, can be both difficult expensive. This paper presents a novel miniaturised magnetically actuated liquid–solid extraction unit integrated tandem with filtration detection on single centrifugal microfluidic device. A demonstration analyte, pyrene, was rapidly extracted quantified by UV-absorbance from multiple soil samples. The system showed excellent performance for designed field use. Characterization two types passive valves performed along an time efficiency study. provides factor 150 reduction sample weights solvent volumes statistically similar recoveries to conventional method pyrene limit 1 ppm (0.03 μg absolute limit). potential use suggest that this device type may valuable environmental monitoring.
